Day 115- Richmond, Virginia: Do We Believe it?

Sometimes we really do have to pinch ourselves as we attempt to justify in our minds the reality of what we actually believe in. Our faith in God truly is a mystery. It may be hard to understand or even explain to people how we feel about our relationship with God and how this powerful connection greatly affects our day-to-day lives. Without the gifts that we receive from God how would we know the difference between right or wrong and good or bad?

What do we believe in? Do we believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins? Do we believe that Jesus really rose from the dead? Do we believe in the second coming of Christ? Do we believe that our souls will go to Heaven or hell when we die? These are very serious questions and ones that may not have a clear-cut answer, besides what we know in our hearts from God through the Holy Spirit.

Through our journey we have encountered many people both good and bad. These people have helped shape us into the Christian or believers that we are today. Our interactions with others have also shaped who they are today. When we look back, are we proud of the mark that we have left so far in this world or can we do better? The truth is that the impressions that we leave on others can impact their relationship with God. If someone sees us treating others with love and respect, don’t you think that they would want to treat others the same? If we donate our time and efforts to helping those in need, do we think those around us would equally do the same? The funny thing about life and faith is that you can only lead someone to the well so that they can choose to drink the water themselves.

Jesus allows us to choose whom we will serve. He allows us to believe in what we want to believe in. The last thing that God will do is show us the way. We must choose the appropriate steps after that. Are our journeys leading us down a road we want to go down or are we being lead down a road of destruction? God is aware of our actions and wants us to walk with faith and not by sight in order for us all to enter into the Kingdom of God.
