Heart to Heart with God: A Journey Towards Acceptance Day 28

365 Days of Reflection Towards God’s Love and Acceptance
~June 4, 2014-June 3, 2015~

Day 28-Richmond, Virginia:

When was the last time that you picked up your phone or computer to text, call, or email someone to tell them about a prayer that you are making to the Lord? For some people this may be every day or once a week, and for others it may be seldom or even worse never. It is good to have a close relationship with God individually, but have you ever stopped to consider how someone else may be in need of the same prayer as you? The Power of Prayer can be miraculous at times and sharing with each other our thoughts and concerns can have lasting affects in our communities.

The first part of the equation is breaking out of our patterns of selfishness and start to not only think about our needs, but also the needs of our neighbors, family, and leaders around the world who are charged with making decisions that have vast impacts on the world in which we all share in together. God wants us to unite for one common purpose and that is to primarily to love our neighbor as ourselves.

When we pray as a family and community we are that much closer to having our prayers answered. God knows our prayers before we even ask them and keeping them a secret only allows us to hoard God for ourselves, which is contradictory to what God wants for everyone. We all need prayer and when we come together amazing results can and will occur in our lives.

The second part of the equation is sharing our miracles and the answer to our prayers with others. This is very important, because when you share with others this information, you are giving them hope that Jesus is listening to their prayers. Do you know how powerful that is? We have an obligation to not only look out for our well being, but also for the well being of people we know and also others that we do not know through the Power of Prayer, from Jesus to our Father in Heaven.

May God hear and answer our collective prayers as we continue to journey towards the light of truth. Amen.
