Heart to Heart with God: A Journey Towards Acceptance Day 43

365 Days of Reflection Towards God’s Love and Acceptance
~June 4, 2014-June 3, 2015~

Day 43-Juno Beach, Florida:

As we look out into the horizon wondering where God is today, we catch a glimpse of the beauty of this world. We see it when the sun rises, looking at the waves as they reach the shore, and in the faces of our children when they embrace us at the moment we need it most. We search high and low on most days uncovering every rock we encounter trying to reach those moments where we know God’s presence is near. He has to be here somewhere, right?

We usually do not have to look very far, because God is everywhere. However, during times of need we seem to be looking in all the wrong places. That can be very frustrating at times, especially since we already know that He is with us every step of the way. The problem is that our Faith gets tested more than what we would like, and we get uncomfortable. It is like the story in the Bible about doubting Thomas. He did not believe that Jesus had come back to see the other Apostles upon His Resurrection and until he saw it for himself he was completely perplexed, to say the least.

We have to stay focused and aware of God’s presence. In addition, we also have to stop worrying about the troubles of tomorrow that may or may not even come. We are taught to focus on today and let tomorrow take care of itself, which can be very difficult to actually put into practice. God lives within us and we are never alone. As we walk further along with God, He reveals Himself to us. We just have to have our eyes open to see the light of God shinning down on us.
May God show His face to those in need, so that they can see the way, the truth, and the light all around them. Amen.
