Heart to Heart with God: A Journey Towards Acceptance Day 60

365 Days of Reflection Towards God’s Love and Acceptance
~June 4, 2014-June 3, 2015~

Day 60-West Palm Beach, Florida:

Conflict occurs when we gain new information that is contradictory with a previous thought or practice that we had. If you only know one way of doing something or only have knowledge of one particular faith and someone comes along telling us something completely different than what we originally thought or what we were taught in the past, what do we do? We usually blow the person off and keep walking forward. However, what if something they said made us think and we were curious to find out more, what do you do then?

What we do is start to listen to the voice of God and start to uncover our own truths based on what we believe, which may conflict with what someone us told us previously. Once we start to research and talk to people to uncover the knowledge that was missing, our whole world can be changed in miraculous ways FOREVER. God is always talking to us and trying to get our attention. There comes a point where we start to listen a little bit more and pay attention to the voice deep inside us that is coming from the Holy Spirit, who dwells within each and every one of us. Who is our God in our mind and what we choose to believe, only comes from within our heart and soul.

So we have or had an old way of thinking and now we have a new way of thinking, which is both scary and fascinating all at once. The Lord’s voice is both comforting and soothing to us when we are open to what He has to say. On the other hand, if we are torn or moving away from God His voice can be stern, but loving to bring us home. We have to navigate through the information superhighway and make our decisions based on where Jesus is leading us. Our journey has many twists and turns that all lead us to the same place. With every story there is always a beginning and an end; God is our Alpha and Omega and when He speaks we need to be ready to listen.
