Heart to Heart with God: A Journey Towards Acceptance Day 8

Heart to Heart with God: A Journey Towards Acceptance Day 8

365 Days of Reflection Towards God’s Love and Acceptance
~June 4, 2014-June 3, 2015~

Day 8-West Palm Beach, Florida:

The hardest part of the day is when we are all faced with temptation. During moments of weakness is when temptation comes like a racecar around the track at speeds of over 200mph. Most times we can resist the urge to do what we know is wrong in our heart, but there are times when we succumb to the desire to do what our flesh wants us to do and we sin. We have learned over the years from the Bible specifically that “the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak”.

That is such a powerful revelation to God’s children. We are all ready to do away with sin, but because of Adam and Eve we are subjected to temptation that prevents us from living sin free. That is why God sent his Son, Jesus, to die for our sins so that we could be absolved from the grief that goes along with not living up to the expectation of living a holy life by sinning in our moments of weakness towards a life in Heaven. Repenting and receiving Gods mercy are such powerful actions, which only brings us closer to God, even when we fail.

Having an action plan to grow, praying, and trusting God all helps when being faced with those moments of weakness. The truth is that we are all born sinners with the ability to be saved through Gods grace and forgiveness. That is why when we fall short we have to return to God through Jesus to ask to be forgiven. There are many ways to talk to God and the key is having a desire to improve while getting stronger everyday by wearing the coat of armor that God has made for us to protect us from making the weak decision instead of the strong one. Helping each other through these difficult periods is what God wants of his children without pulling down others along the way.
