Day 94-Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Teach me O Lord
Every day we are faced with decisions and obstacles that prohibit us from being as close to God as we can be. Why is this so? Couldn’t there be an easier way to navigate through this world with less strife, heartache, and loneliness? Is there not a way to separate ourselves from the evil of the world, so that we may be delivered on judgment day and sanctified? What is the obstacle in our lives that is holding us back the most and how can we identify the main problem at the foundation?
When we are faced with these questions and are attempting to satisfy God’s desire for our souls we become exasperated. This is exactly why we must lean on God and allow Him to lead us throughout the day. We cry out in the night for clarity and wake up the next morning dumbfounded as to the true nature of our existence. We long to be taught by our Father and hear his response to our daily questions. When the Lord speaks we will listen, when we are ready to understand what He is asking of us. There lies the true mystery of Christ and in spite of the lack of a voice talking to us in words, we are always in the presence of God.
We may ask, God why me? Why choose me to carry the load of raising multiple children alone? Why have I been chosen to endure the level of pain that I carry in my heart? Lord, why do I feel like no one listens to me? There are many other questions that we all want answered and they will be in God’s time. There is a reason that each and every one of us has been chosen to be on this Earth.
We pray that God teaches us how to live our lives and live out His true commandments, as taught to us by the Disciples of our Father in the Bible. Furthermore specifically from Psalm we cry out, “All your commands are trustworthy; help me, for I am being persecuted without cause”. We all need God’s teachings to get through and also to be able to gain the strength necessary to move forward without going backward in our faith walk.
