Day 99-Oakland, Pennsylvania: Unanswered Prayers

Will today be the day that we are touched by God? If so, are we prepared for what God has in store for us? It is usually when we least expect it that a miracle occurs in our lives. When this moment comes we really have to stop sometimes and ask ourselves, “is this real”? We may wait for such a long period of time before God’s blessing actually reaches us. As a result we instantly become overwhelmed with joy, happiness, and even fear in some cases.

We may have wanted something so bad, but when it finally comes we are unsure if we deserve the blessing. We may also start to second-guess if we are worthy of having our prayers answered by our Father. How we process and deal with our blessings make all of the difference in the world. We have to be strong and continuously ask God to help us navigate our lives through the good and bad phases of life. We cannot ever do it alone and must be appreciative of the ways that we are blessed, even in unchartered waters.

The last element to consider of our prayers, are those that go unanswered. When this happens are we angry with God? The great thing is that when we do not receive a blessing it actually may be a blessing in disguise, because we may have been praying for something we were either not ready for or could negatively affect our lives. That is why prayer is so important as we grow our relationship with Jesus Christ.

We should continue to reach out to God and thank Him for all our blessings. In addition, we need to be ever thankful to God for allowing us to grow on our own through unanswered prayers, that actually save us from going down a road that could quite possibly lead us astray on our own individual faith journey. The events that occur in our lives may seem insignificant on some days. However, every action has a reaction with a specific purpose for our growth with God.
