Day 129- Richmond, Virginia: Salvation

Are we saved? Are we really the chosen people of God? Why us? Why would we be worth God sending His only Begotten Son to Earth to die for our sins? What makes us so special? A point to consider in order to get the answers to these questions is understanding that there is a difference between knowing that we are saved and actually being saved. The one thought that can helps us, along with our faith, is knowing that through the Blood of Christ we are all saved and by the salvation of God we have the opportunity to assemble together in Heaven.

Through the Word of God we know that there is a purpose for us in this world. That is why living out our lives in a manner that brings others, along with us, closer to God is more valuable than 1000 gold or silver pieces. What if “All Humans Went to Heaven”? Wouldn’t that be wonderful? What if we united as a society and we all worked to destroy evil in this world through the salvation that God gives us. This is possible. We could all choose to ignore sin and Satan altogether. It would be hard, but think of the amount of people that could be converted and saved.

In spite of our desires, the love that we receive from God far outweighs any empty promises that satan is trying to sell us on a regular basis. From the devils perspective, he is trying to persuade everyone, “who needs a god when you can be rich or do anything that you want” by following me. The choice is ours, but through God’s salvation we can break free from the lies of the devil and start to think freely for ourselves with Jesus. When we choose to live our lives with Christ we will all have a joyful thanksgiving together.

From Isaiah, “Then you will say on that day, “I will give thanks to You, O LORD; For although You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, And You comfort me. Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the LORD GOD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation”. We are worth it and God knows the value of all His children, even if we do not see it at times.

Jesus, please help us to not be afraid, trust You in our daily lives, and guide us towards a fulfilled life in your Holy Name. Amen.
