Day 143- Richmond, Virginia: Despair

Having despair is one of the worst feelings in the world, because how can we as a man or woman with no hope move forward in life? We must pray to God to have peace and love in our hearts, in order to be filled with the Holy Spirit to remove any and all emotions that leave us empty. We must be strong and brave in trusting God no matter what religion we practice. We cannot allow one instance or a particular circumstance to bring us down. We must fight back and never give up as we allow God to take up arms on our behalf to destroy the evil around us.

When we suffer, God equally suffers. We must cry out to the Lord as we ask for harmony in our hearts and minds in order to remove any and all thoughts that separate us from the Lord our God. From Psalm: “Vindicate me, my God, and plead my cause against an unfaithful nation. Rescue me from those who are deceitful and wicked. You are God my stronghold. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy? Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight. I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God. Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God”. When God shines His light on us and receives our prayers, we are forgiven. When we are forgiven, we are saved from the thoughts that we have that can bring us to a place of hopelessness with God by our side.

We must work to control those negative thoughts that do not allow us to focus on the cross of Jesus Christ. When the devil tempts us and we fail God it is easy to become discouraged. This is when we need our faith more than ever and when we need to realize that the mistakes we make today can be corrected for tomorrow, in most circumstances. We must never allow ourselves to believe that we are not worthy of God or the love that God gives us. We are all children of God and with His mercy we are forgiven from our sins.
