Day 155- Richmond, Virginia: Our Hope

A person, who has hope, may have the most powerful weapon known to mankind. Furthermore, a person who has the hope that comes from our Father in Heaven is basically unstoppable. Hope is an element of life, which usually brings us back to our senses when it seems that life is just horrible. Hope allows us to keep our faith no matter what obstacle that we are faced with. Hope is what drives our commitment to one another as Christians to spread the Word of God for everyone to experience all over the world.

No man or woman can prosper without hope. We are taught that faith, hope, and love are the core elements of our faith in Jesus Christ, with love being the most important aspect. Even though love is central to our faith, this does not diminish the importance of maintaining hope when we are faced with sin. In Romans, we are exposed to what it truly means to have hope: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”. When we believe and have hope, nothing is impossible. Along our journey with God, there are some days we walk and other days from which we run towards the truth. This truth, the truth from God, will sets us free with the Power from the Holy Spirit within our souls.

Every struggle that we have has a purpose! God is calling us to reach out with a spirit of hope in order for us to be able to believe whole heartedly that Jesus will deliver us from evil, in His name’s sake. When life hits us like a hurricane, we have to turn to God to help us deal with the pain and destruction that occurs as a result of the evil that exists in the world through everlasting hope. When our hope is strong in God we are saved. When we trust God with not only words, but with our actions we are free to help others. We are instructed by God to love our neighbors with the hope for a better tomorrow, which always follows when we obey God.
