(Excerpt from Chapter 4: Coping After)
“The process of coping and moving forward positively is essential to your development as a survivor of abuse. Your thoughts and feelings are a part of who you are, and where you are going in life. You will be able to feel a strong sense of pride within yourself once you are able to make positive changes, and see the results of what you have achieved. This section will outline ways to begin to love yourself again, and also provide further insight into ways to move on to a fulfilling life filled with joy and happiness.
As we have learned thus far, dealing with your feelings and emotions are draining activities that can leave you feeling hopeless and alone initially. Overcoming these low points of your day will help uplift your heart with a level of peace that you may have once thought was not meant for you. You deserve to be happy, and understanding how to teach yourself to be loved again is what you will realize once you start to believe in yourself.
Being loved, loving yourself, and feeling loved is essentially the core of what you will need to establish as a strong foundation for turning the corner on negative thoughts and emotions in your life. Being able to accept these feelings is scary, but also knowing that you are both worthy of love and capable of receiving love is something that everyone deserves in this world. LOVE HEALS ALL WOUNDS.
When you are able to accept and understand this quote you will have the tools necessary to move on with an appreciation of what life has to offer for those who have faith, hope, and love in their heart regardless of the situation they are faced with.”

Abuse is a serious and sensitive subject. Not everyone is able to deal with the pain associated with abuse, and many do not understand truly what someone who deals with this pain on a daily basis actually is dealing with. The purpose of the book is to help others overcome these horrific experiences in order for them to be able to live again. We all have the “Power” to deal with adversity and move forward no matter the circumstances.
