Who Said Adversity Was Easy to Overcome?

Who Said Adversity Was Easy to Overcome?

When Christopher Columbus set out for the new world there where many people who laughed publicly I am sure, and some thought he was a mad man who was going to get himself killed in the process. Do you think he had to overcome adversity to reach his objective? Obstacles with many roadblocks surround us mostly everyday, and we have to find a way to navigate through these hardships to reach the fulfillment that we desire as an organization or individually.

Like most everything in life nothing comes easy, and it takes a high level of determination to get back up when we all get knocked down. The great thing is that when you do get back up you are much stronger, and you will not allow something like that to happen again because you have learned a life lesson. Nothing is more satisfying than overcoming adversity and reaching a goal you had set for yourself.

Having a practical system that you use in your daily life can help keep you stay focused, and prepared to face adversity head on. This way you can have the success that you desire internally and externally towards your commitments in life. The below steps may be helpful as a guide on your journey. It is the little aspects that go a long way in defining you as a person and as a member of the society in which we live.

  1.  Have faith and believe in yourself
  2. Respect others and their opinions
  3. Give your best effort daily
  4. Appreciate the good things and recognize ways to improve
  5. Smile more
  6. Trust in the foundation that you are building within yourself
  7. Do everything above with honor and humility

The final key to the puzzle is recognizing the barriers that you have overcome, and celebrating your victories. There are many instances where we are so busy that we do not stop, and appreciate the good work we have done or our employees have done on a day-to-day basis. Recognize your accomplishments and share them with those around you so that maybe what you went through can help someone else from going through the same painful growth.
